Every year from 1994 to 2023, the German Mobility Panel collected information on when, why and by which means of transport people in Germany travel. To this end, households were asked about their mobility behavior in everyday life. Household members filled out a diary in which they recorded all their journeys over the course of a week. With this information, they made an important contribution to the sensible design of transport systems. In addition, the MOP collected annual data on vehicle mileage and fuel consumption in private households. The last survey on everyday travel took place in 2022, the last refueling and charging survey in 2023.
