Objective was the investigation of the representative traffic behaviour of the population in Berlin and its hinterland (basis data) especially for apportionment calculations. For that purpose household interviews were conducted in Berlin and Brandenburg in June 1998. The household structure, demographic data, transport demand, choice of means of transportation, vehicle availability, origin and destination, purpose of trip and type of ticket were surveyed.
