The study from the Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung Halle, by order of the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs, provides economic framework data for the derivation of the flow of freight traffic on regional and sectoral level. It includes forecasts of the overall economic development of Germany and its trade partners, forecasts of the regional and sectoral production in Germany and its neighbouring countries as well as forecasts of the bilateral trade in goods of Germany with its trade partners in Europe and overseas. For the study, data from the Federal Statistical Office Germany and Eurostat was used.
The results of the study are supposed to incorporate into the traffic forecast 2025, by order of the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs.
