Objective of the survey was the updating and enhancement of the choice of means of transportation modell in freight traffic. For that purpose interviews of 700-750 shippers and companies in the shipping economy in Germany and the Netherlands were conducted in 1995 and 2001. The company structure, decision criteria, transport demand, origin and destination and choice of means of transportation were surveyed and the choice of means of transportation was simulated.
